Sultana Sugar Candy Pastry



A sapid rich pastry that is suitable for any occasion. Sultana Sugar Candy Pastry is layers of sweet pastry with filling of sultana, sugar candy, nuts, semolina and raisins.

Ingredients for Pastry

- 500 grams flour
- 1 egg , beaten
- Salt
- 75 grams ghee
- cornflour for rolling

Directions for pastry

First mix the above ingredients adding sufficient water to prepare the pastry, knead well and keep aside.


Ingredients For Filling

- 500 grams crushed white sugar candy
- 125 grams semolina
- 75 grams ghee
- 75 grams cashew nuts
- 250 grams Sultanas
- Essence of rose, almond and banana
- 75 grams raisins or dates

Directions For Filling

1. Mix all above filling ingredients and keep aside.

2. Cover bottom of pan with a layer of pastry, brush that layer with ghee and cover second layer of pastry on the first layer.

3. Spread the filling and cover with third layer of pastry and brush that layer with ghee.

4. Spread the filling and cover with fourth layer of pastry and brush that layer with ghee.

5. Cover the fourth layer with the final fifth layer of pastry.

6. Cut through with knife to make a diamond pattern as shown in above image and spread the balance ghee on top.

7. Bake in oven at 350° F until the pastry turns golden brown.

8. Boil sugar in one cup of water, add essence to the boiled sugar syrup and pour over the baked pastry.


Note:  Remove from oven and let the pastry cool completely before serving.

Servings: 8 to 10

Simple Radish Salad



Radishes will grow almost anywhere, in almost any soil. Radish salad is something you see in various places around the world, they have a crisp, peppery flavor. Here is a simple easy way to prepare tasty Radish Salad.

Ingredients
- Around 8 radishes cleaned, washed and sliced thin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3/4 tablespoon orange juice
- Salt
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh mint or cilantro

Preparation 
Place the sliced radishes in a bowl and sprinkle with little salt and mix it. Leave for 15 minutes. Then squeeze out any excess moisture.

Whisk together the lemon juice, orange juice and add pepper & salt as needed to the sliced radishes. Garnish with chopped fresh basil or fresh mint, and serve.

How to make a simple Grilled Cheese Sandwich



They are so pretty simple and yet so irresistibly good. Do you need a simple meal with bread, butter and cheddar cheese. Here's an easy way to make this classic sandwich.

Ingredients
2 slices white bread
1 slice cheddar cheese
1 1/2 tablespoons butter

Directions
Preheat the nonstick pan over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of a slice of bread.

Place bread butter-side down onto pan bottom and keep the slice of cheese on that bread slice.

Butter the second slice of bread on one side and place butter-side-up on top of the cheese.

Grill until lightly browned and flip over, continue grilling until cheese is melted.


Servings: make 1 sandwich

Aloo Capsicum Recipe



Ingredients
•  4 Capsicums
•  2 Potatoes
•  1 Large chopped onion
•  1 Large chopped tomato
•  1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
•  1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
•  1 tsp Ground coriander
•  2 tbsp Oil
•  Salt to taste
•  Coriander leaves

Directions - How to make Aloo Capsicum
•  Peel the boiled potatoes and cut into pieces.
•  Wash capsicum and cut into pieces.
•  Heat the oil and fry chopped onion till it turns brown.
•  Add capsicum and potato and mix it.
•  Add chopped tomato, turmeric powder,red chili powder,ground coriander and salt.
•  Mix it well and  and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes in low flame.
•  Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
•  Serve hot with rotis.

Simple Pecan Pie Recipe



A deliciously rich pie that is great for any occasion. Pecan pie is a custard pie made, as you might imagine, with pecans as a the focal ingredient. It is popularly served at holiday meals and is also considered a specialty of  southern U.S. cuisine. Most pecan pie recipes include salt and vanilla as flavorings. Making Pecan Pie from scratch is a lot easier than you might think. This recipe makes a great pecan pie.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
3 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
1 single 9-inch unbaked deep-dish pie crust

Directions:
1. Beat butter and sugar together until fluffy; then add salt, corn syrup, beaten eggs and vanilla to prepare the mixture.

2. Place a pie pan with pie crust pastry and sprinkle evenly with pecans.

3. Pour the mixture over the pecans, covering completely.

4. Bake in a very hot oven 450° F for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350° F and bake an additional 35 minutes longer or until knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

Note: Remove from oven and let the pie cool completely before serving.
